This Christmas spirit is alive and well on the Devonport peninsula as we wind down towards the end of the year and start planning for the summer holidays ahead.
Devonstock Music Festival is happening on Sunday 9th December from 2pm to 6pm at Windsor Reserve on Devonport’s Waterfront. The talented line-up of young musicians featured include: SKILAA, Munkhouse, Daffodils, Gretel, Masonic Silk and Ben Glanfield. This free event is brought to you by the Devonport Youth Forum and the Devonport Peninsula Trust, with special thanks to the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board for their support.
Devonport community organisations are opening their doors and inviting you to their Christmas parties!
SCOTTY BREWER SKATE DAY BACKGROUND
The skate day competition was originally started in 2006 and was part of an event called Small Day Out. The event was held at Ngataringa Park and included a music concert and other activities for youth such as giant bouncy castles, volleyball and bungee. The event was organised by the Devonport Community Coordinator at the time in conjunction with the Devonport Youth Forum, Devonport Community Board and Devonport Rotary Club
The weather gods have listened and gifted us with a beautiful sunny day for our annual Scotty Brewer Skate Day on Saturday at Ngataringa Skate Park in Devonport.
We had a great turnout again this year with 53 competitors in total across all divisions, lots of happy faces, some amazing talent and a great sense of community.
Thank you to everyone who came along and congratulations to the winners! Click "Read more" to see more photos.

You will also find our preschool toys at International PARK(ing) Day in Devonport on Friday 21st September. Devonport Peninsula Trust is taking part in this event, organised by Devonport architecture firms and businesses, who are taking over the car parks and redesigning them for human use, rather than a single vehicle.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Network Meeting on Thursday morning at the Devonport Yacht Club.
We are especially grateful to our guest speakers: Ann Nguyen and James Ireland from AT who came and spoke about the trial EV shuttle service that is coming to Devonport soon. Ann and James gave a good overview on how the service will work.
